Language is our primary source of communication. It is the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others.

English is one such language which not only helps in communication but acts as the gateway to the world of opportunities.

English is the official language of 53 countries and spoken by around 400 million people across the globe.

There are several factors that make the English Language essential. English has been considered to be the first global Lingua Franca.

In today's modern world the English language has become part and parcel of every existing field.

English has been the international language of Communication, business, Aviation, Computers, Science and Technology, tourism and so on.

OBJECTIVES:

 Ability to be comfortable with English in use while reading or listening.

Ability to use receptive skills through reading and listening to acquire good exposure to language and literature.

Ability to write and speak good English in all situations.

Students should develop style in speech and writing and manipulate the tools of language for effective communication.

OUTCOMES:

 Students can read and understand any text in English listening to the inputs given by the teacher in the classroom.

 Students imbibe the rules of language unconsciously and tune to deduce language structure and usage.

 Students write paragraphs ,essays, and letters.

Students decipher the mechanism of language and use it for success in competitive examinations and job related speaking and writing tasks.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT:

          The Department of English was established with the establishment of the college itself i.e.in 1983 with two groups i.e.B.A. (HEP), B.Com. (Gen).

In 2016 B.Sc.  (MPC& BZC), and in 2021-22 B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Com (Computer Applications) and B.A.(Computer Applications)were sanctioned.

The Department has been striving towardssuccess in imparting the standardized English language skills besides imparting theCommunication andSoft skills

which are very essential to everyone in present day job scenario.English is a primary tool to acquire a job and thus the department is taking necessary steps

toenlighten the students to identify the need of language skills irrespective of their skills in theircore areas. Since the inception of the college, there were eminent

lecturers who served theirstudents in an efficient manner.

            Most of the students are coming from rural background and Telugu medium in their earlierstudies, the department is always in number one position in making them

identifying the needand essence of enhancing their language skills in English according to the present daycompetitive world.
